Which Chipex™ UK paint kit do I need for my Lexus?

You may be wondering why there are three different Lexus touch up paint kits to choose from. This is because we want to ensure you get the coverage needed without waste. It will supply you with everything you need to handle up to 24 areas of damage. * Chipex™ UK Pro is the best choice if you’re dealing with an extensive area of Lexus paint damage or you carry out regular repairs in the same colour. This kit has a longer shelf life for ongoing maintenance and contains significantly more paint than our other two kits.

Do I need to add primer before using my Lexus touch up paint?

No, in most cases, you don’t need to apply a coat of primer before adding your Lexus touch up paint from Chipex™ UK. If the scratch, chip, or scuff is fairly light and doesn’t penetrate through to the metal substrate, you can layer your touch up paint directly. However, we do recommend primer if you need to repair damage that has gone through to the metal beneath the paint. This is to create a smooth, clean surface for the paint to adhere to.

Do I need to add clear coat after applying Chipex™ UK paint?

We’ve formulated our Lexus touch up paint as an all-in-one solution. A patented lacquer is already included to protect the repaired paintwork and lower the risk of rust and corrosion setting in. As such, you don’t need to add a separate layer of clear coat.

What should I do if I make a mistake when applying my Lexus touch up paint?

Have you got a smudge of paint outside of the area you meant to cover? Don’t worry, you can use the blending solution and paint removal cloth from your Chipex™ UK kit to gently rub the excess paint away before it dries and cures. You’ll then be able to pick up where you left off and carefully add a new layer of colour matched paint.

How long will my Lexus touch up paint last?

Provided it’s been applied carefully and correctly, your Lexus touch up paint from Chipex™ UK should last as long as the original paintwork. To get the best and longest-lasting results, we recommend following our detailed instructions carefully and building up the paint in thin, even layers. Make sure each layer has sufficient time to dry.
