Is gold a popular car colour?
Gold is undoubtedly a more unusual paint colour for vehicles. Along with yellow, brown, and orange, it’s one of the rarest car colours, making it ideal for drivers who want to make a statement.
From champagne gold to rose gold, this car paint is available in a variety of shades, too.
Why order gold car paint from Chipex?
Gold can be a great choice of vehicle colour but it’s important to repair any chips, scrapes, or scuffs which can take away from its sleek appearance. The best way to do this is to find high-quality touch-up paint in a matching shade.
When you order gold car paint from Chipex, you can benefit from:
- 100% colour match guarantee: When it comes to gold, a hue that’s slightly off will appear obvious. To avoid this, we custom-mix every batch of gold paint we send out, using your OEM paint code as a base.
- Various finishes: Other paints on the market don’t always cater to pearlescent, matte, and metallic finishes — our gold car paint does.
- Easy to use: Our repair paint is designed to be clear and straightforward to use. We provide comprehensive instructions so you can get seamless results no matter your experience level.
- Everything you need: Your kit also includes all the accessories you need for a smooth repair. We’ll send our premium blending solution, microfibre cloths, brushes, polish, and protective gloves.
How much gold car paint do you need?
Custom-mixing every batch of gold car paint we send out ensures a precise colour match but also allows us to optimise the product’s shelf life and reduce waste. You can order one of the following kit sizes to make sure you have the amount of paint you need for the damage in question:
Lite: 10 ml paint, 10 ml polish, 30 ml blending solution
Plus: 20 ml paint, 65 ml polish, 30 ml blending solution
Pro: 30 ml paint, 65 ml polish, 60 ml blending solution
How to find the shade of gold you need
Not all gold car paint is exactly the same. Depending on the vehicle manufacturer, there are nuances between seemingly similar colours. So whether you’re in need of yellow gold, rose gold, or pale champagne gold car paint, the best way to ensure an accurate match is to find your OEM paint code.
Your vehicle’s paint code will usually be located somewhere in your car. However, you can also use our handy paint code tool. Once we know your OEM shade, we can mix a bespoke paint batch to match.

Restore your gold car’s paintwork in three steps
With our easy-to-use touch-up kits, you can make paint damage a thing of the past with our. Whether you’re tackling road rash, chips, scrapes, or scratches, follow these three simple steps:
Prepare the area of damage
It’s important to clean the area around the chip, scratch or damage. Removing any dirt, wax, or polish will help the paint adhere properly for longer-lasting results.
1. Apply your gold car paint
Use the brush from your Chipex kit to apply your custom-mix gold car paint. If you’re painting over minor road rash, you may wish to apply the product with a gloved finger instead. Leave the paint for up to five minutes, until it is touch-dry.
2. Blend the paint
The blending solution in your kit removes excess paint and creates seamless coverage. Apply a small amount of it to your paint removal cloth and then gently rub it over the painted area. Wait for a few minutes for it to dry.
3. Polish to restore shine*
*Note: Don’t worry about this step if your vehicle features matte gold paint.
Polishing the repaired area will help it match the original paintwork as much as possible. Apply the polish from your kit, using microfibre cloth. Once it has dried to an opaque hue, buff away the excess.
