3-step process
- 1. Paint
- 2. Blend
- 3. Polish
Instructions
Preparation
First, ensure the surface you wish to treat has been thoroughly cleaned and dried prior to application of the Chipex paint and finishes - all wax/polish should be removed from the chipped area.
It is important to vigorously shake the paint bottle prior to use. Always use the supplied protective gloves and appropriate eye protection in a well-ventilated area.
Start the application process in a small area, until you have fully familiarised yourself with the process. Best results will be achieved by following the instructions in full.
Step 1
Paint Application
Wearing the protective glove; evenly apply the paint flat across the damaged area with the Chipex Paint Applicator Brush®.
If you are using ‘Road Rash’, simply dip your finger into the paint and smear it across the damaged area with your gloved finger.
*The drying time for the paint can be anywhere between 30-seconds and 5-minutes, depending on the ambient temperature and quantity of paint applied.
Step 2
Blending Solution
Once the paint is touch dry, add a small quantity of Blending Solution to the Paint Removal Cloth.
Applying a light pressure, gently run the cloth across the surface to remove the excess paint from the panel. Do not rub the surface too hard, as the Blending Solution will do the work.
Once all the excess paint is removed from around the chip, leave to dry for a few minutes before moving on to stage 3 of the process.
Step 3
Polish
Once the panel surface is dry, apply a small quantity of Step 3 Finishing Polish to the Microfibre cloth and gently rub over the entire treated area.
Once the polish has dried to an opaque haze, gently buff with the Microfibre cloth.
For the best results, we would recommend that you polish the whole panel.
Hints & Tips
Large & Deep Chips
To build up the paint to the required level, you can repeat Steps 1 & 2. On particularly deep chips, this process will have to be repeated multiple times to gradually increase the paint, layer by layer.
Mistakes
Should you make a mistake at any time, you can remove the paint by applying the step 2 Blending Solution.
Temperature
It is recommended our products are applied in temperatures above 0°c, as the paint drying process will be reduced.
Important
This product is not suitable for vehicles that have been recently painted - it is recommended that you allow at least 1 month for the original vehicle paint to cure from the time of painting.
