Your car’s paintwork acts as a protective shield that keeps the bodywork safe from scratches, chips and corrosion. If left untreated, even the smallest area of damage can expose the bare metal to moisture and cause extensive rust in the years to come. That’s why Chipex automotive paint will become your go-to for professional repairs from home.

And the good news? You won’t have to spend over the odds. Our kits start from as little as £36.95. The precision paint and blending formula means no streaks or patches. Instead, you’ll achieve a flawless paint repair that’s almost invisible to the naked eye. Every Chipex kit is mixed to your vehicle’s exact OEM paint code (the original manufacturer colour). Don’t know your car’s colour code? No problem — just use our easy touch up paint colour match tool.

Common causes of paint damage

Daily driving exposes your paintwork to all types of damage. Some of the most common causes include:

  • Chips: Are caused by road debris hitting the car body at high speeds. In more severe cases, it is commonly known as ‘road rash’.

  • Scratches: Can range from light surface marks through to deep key cuts.

  • UV fading: Prolonged ultraviolet exposure degrades paint pigments.

  • Chemical stains: Bird droppings and road salt are highly corrosive. If left untreated, they can etch into the paintwork.

  • Weather: Constant exposure to rain and frost can weaken the paint over time, resulting in rusting and cracking.

Chipex is designed to tackle all these common issues, helping restore your car’s paintwork to factory standard.

FAQs

Is Chipex suitable for use on matte bodywork?

Yes!

However, do not use the polishing solution (step 3) included in the kit. Doing so could remove the matte finish and add shine to the bodywork.

Can Chipex be used on tri-coat paint finishes?

Yes, our kits can be used on tri-coat finishes. The auto paint restoration kit includes two different paints to help recreate the original look as closely as possible.

How long will a Chipex repair last?

Once Chipex is applied, a strong protective layer is created that guards the car’s bodywork against wear and tear. With proper application of the automotive paint match kit, the repair will last for several years.

Can I use Chipex on plastic or alloy parts?

Chipex is made specifically for repairing paint on metal areas of your car. We would not recommend for use on plastic or alloy surfaces.
