How? It’s all thanks to OEM colour matching. We match the paint to your car’s exact original colour code. Just follow our easy three-step process, and you could have your repair done in as little as 30 minutes.

Chipex auto paint kit options

Whether you’re a DIY enthusiast or a trade user, our kits are built to handle all types of repairs. Choose from three options:

Lite

This kit is ideal for repairing minor stone chips and tiny scratches. It includes a small amount of OEM colour-matched paint and a complete set of accessories, giving you everything you need for quick touch-ups.

Plus

This kit provides a larger volume of paint for handling bigger chips and scratches. It’s suitable for repairing multiple areas or slightly deeper damage, where you might need to blend and build up the paint for an even texture.

Pro

The pro kit is designed for tackling multiple repair spots on a single vehicle or for professionals working on several cars that are the same colour at once.

How to find the right Chipex paint for you

Firstly, you’ll need to find the exact paint code for your vehicle.

Every single vehicle has a unique identifier assigned by the manufacturer that specifies the exact shade used on your car. You’ll often find it on a sticker inside the driver’s door. But if you can’t seem to locate it, don’t worry! Chipex offers an easy-to-use touch up paint colour match tool on our website. Just enter your vehicle’s registration and we’ll handle the rest.

How to apply Chipex to your vehicle

Prep the panel

Firstly, wash the repair area thoroughly to remove dirt residues. Any remaining contaminants will stop the touch-up from bonding. Shake the paint bottle well (a vigorous 20–30 seconds helps) so pigments and binder mix evenly.

Apply

Use the Chipex applicator brush place paint only into the chip. Work from the deepest part of the damage outward. If you’re using the fixing a Road Rash product, use your gloved fingertip to gently smear the paint across the damaged area.

Blend

When the paint is touch-dry, put a small amount of the blending solution on the included cloth. Lightly wipe across the repair in one or two smooth passes to lift excess paint from the surrounding surface. Let the area sit for a few minutes to dry.

Polish

Apply a pea-sized amount of the polish to a microfibre cloth and work it over the treated area until it turns cloudy. Buff with a clean part of the cloth to restore shine and blend the repair into the surrounding paint.

FAQS:

Can I use Chipex on a newly painted car?

No, we wouldn’t recommend it.

Fresh paint needs around four weeks to fully cure. Once it’s hardened, you can go ahead

and use your new Chipex kit.

Can Chipex repair large, wide scratches?

In most cases, Chipex wouldn’t be a suitable solution for large scratches that cover a wide

area. So, we’d advise a trip to the body shop for wide and deep scratches.

Will my repair be noticeable after using Chipex?

Once applied, Chipex blends seamlessly with your car’s paintwork, and most chips and

scratches disappear completely. While we appreciate that the kit may not give the same

effect as a full professional respray, the results come impressively close for a fraction of the price!
